About Swing It
The idea for Swing-It Gate Hinge System was born when a gate installer was asked to fit a pair of driveway gates on a sloping driveway. Several challenges had to be solved:
The gap under the gates had to be small enough (90 mm) to stop children and pets from escaping.
The gates needed to open and close easily, even without automation.
The hinge system had to allow for lighter, more affordable gate posts without compromising strength.
Existing hinge systems didn’t meet these needs, so we designed our own. The result was the Swing-It Gate Hinge System.
Today, Swing-It Gate Hinge System hinges have been installed across New Zealand and internationally, including on luxury gates in Hollywood. Our system is proven, reliable, and trusted worldwide.
Uphill Drives:
Swing-It Gate Hinge System allows gates to open inwards up the slope. This creates a welcoming entry, lets vehicles safely follow the gates into the property, and avoids the dangers of outward-opening gates.
Outward-opening gates can be illegal (if they open over public land) and can pose a risk to pedestrians and vehicles.
Gates set back to allow outward opening create a “pocket” of land — a potential hiding spot for intruders at night.
Downhill Drives:
Swing-It Gate Hinge System allows gates to follow the slope of the driveway for a smooth, controlled, and more attractive motion — unlike gates that simply swing out into open space.
Level Ground:
The built-in leveling mode ensures precise alignment of gate pairs, creating a polished, high-quality entrance that enhances a property’s street appeal.
